Irritable Offers

My cat (the one below, not the one in the banner) has two names.

We called her Toastie when she was still with her litter, then when she came to live with us, we decided she looked more like a Flossie.

But because we'd already been referring to her as Toastie for a couple of weeks, that name stuck too.

Most of the time, my naming skills can be trusted - but it's not a 100%, success rate, Reader

During last week’s Voxer Q&A day my mentoring client explained that while the name of her 6-week program looked good on paper, it sounded like a different word when said out loud, and was tricky to say clearly.

I told her I had bitter regrets about naming a course Irresistible Offers*, as I could neither say nor spell the word ‘irresistible’.

She replied to say she loved Irresistible Offers…but her phone auto-corrected it to Irritable Offers and well there you see my point - I did not think that name through.

I love responding to ‘help me name this thing’ requests - so if you have a new thing that needs a name (or an old thing that needs a new name)…

I don’t know a lot about cars, but I know enough to realise that the flashing orange engine-shaped light on the dash was not a proclamation of good news, Reader. Early Saturday morning, I drove to the beach while the rest of the family were still sleeping. The engine was a little jumpy to begin with, normal on a cold morning, but when the engine light started flashing, I knew it was time to park somewhere safe, and accept the car was in need of professional help. I was frustrated. This is the...
