What would you like to be different about your business or marketing by the end of July?

I find planning and goal-setting hard - it feels kind of abstract, and my brain very much likes literal, tangible things.

But when I ask myself this question, I can picture my life then, and what it'll look like as we wrap up July, and I go from feeling blank and uninspired, to having multiple ideas fight for my attention, and then I can start deciding the steps I need to take to make those things happen..... and then I guess that is goal-setting and plan-making.

So, Reader, what would you like to be different about your business or marketing by the end of July? (you know I'm always happy to read your replies if you want to share).

If you'd like my help making those changes, or reaching those goals, the next round of Marketing On Purpose, my 12-week 1-1 mentoring package, starts 27th April.

Get all the details here.

Use the sign-up form (on that page) to tell me you’re interested and I’ll be in touch with some questions to help us find out if Marketing On Purpose is right for you right now, plus an invite to a Getting To Know Each Other Chat (over Voxer).

Feedback just in from the January - April round:

“Working with Laura is a breeze - it's so helpful knowing she's always there to bounce ideas off and work through decisions and problems together. She has a great balance of sharing advice and feedback without telling you "what to do", and encouraging you to work through your feelings and instincts on things too. With her help I've made some clear steps towards a new path for my business.” - Sarah, https://sw-studio.co.uk/

‘What results have your clients had after working with you?’ That a question 👆👆👆 totally stumped me, Reader Sometime last year, someone who was considering joining Marketing On Purpose asked me ‘What results have your clients had after working with you?’ It was a fair question, but one my brain would not offer up a good answer for at the time. When my mouth has not been forthcoming with a response during a live interaction, to help the wave of shame and embarrassment subside, I like to replay...

At the end of a long and tiring day, my brain told me to turn off the TV and draw a duck. I know better than to argue with my brain, Reader - there would be no sleep until I had followed the inspiration. So I did. One day, I would like to illustrate my blog posts and newsletters consistently, with drawings that clearly communicate something, and are in a style that is recognisably mine. But for now, I am playing around, drawing animals, weather icons, and whatever else I feel like attempting....

Do you keep track of what you’ve done, not just what you need to do Reader? A to-done list…. or even a ta-dah list if you’re feeling exuberant. I’ve done it for short periods when my inner voice has been particularly savage and I needed to feel better about what I was doing with my time. But it hasn’t been a habit of mine. It felt like too much of a faff to do The Thing and then write down that I had done The Thing. A few weeks ago, Son#2 began attending a farm-based day centre as part of his...
